As a co-resident of Berlin club night Janus, M.E.S.H. has been constantly active bringing fragmented rhythms to the dancefloor and refiguring club dynamics on records such as Share The Blame and Scythians. His debut full-length, Piteous Gate, was a bold step forward, leaving behind much of the dance-informed elements of his previous work and creating an unpredictable, sometimes frightening album of oblique, theatrical sound-stages. Violent cinematic effects enshroud ornate, virtual-acoustic instrumentation, with an eerie calm ebbing beneath the flux — a sense of shocked ambivalence.

日野浩志郎によるソロプロジェクト。カセットテープレーベルbirdFriend主宰。「goat」、「bonanzas」というバンドのプレイヤー兼コンポーザーであり、クラシック楽器や電子音を融合させたハイブリッドな大編成プロジェクト「Virginal Variations」、10台以上のスピーカーや移動する演奏者を混じえた全身聴覚ライブ「GEIST」の作曲、演出を行う。これまでNous、EM records、Where To Now?、TAL、Discos Casablancaからレコードをリリースしている。

Hailing from Kyoto, Japan.
Co-founder of 10 Label.
Currently producing and performing as solo artist as well as in collaboration with Anthone (as BOKEH) and Chafik Chennouf. Former member of Steven Porter together with Yuji Kondo until their breakup 2017.
Even though Sawa’s very first outing under his EOC alias already saw his introduction in 2008 on UK based AI Records, he made his first major appearance with his collaborative remix with Yuji Kondo of Jimmy Edgar’s “Sleight of Mouth” on Spanish Semantica Records in 2010.
His own “10 Label” he kicked off with “Deed” (2011, also in collaboration with Yuji Kondo) and later released the split single “Undulant Latitude”.
His latest releases include contributions for Leyla Records (Various Artists – ‘Unwitch – the first session’, cassette and digital out on March 2nd), The Weevil Neighbourhood (Bokeh – Lancashire / Fast Fiver), 10 Label (STEVEN PORTER – JOURNEY TO THE STAR and ENSEMBLE ECONOMIQUE – STEVEN PORTER REMIXES), Opal Tapes (Chafik Chennouf – Ferroequinologie ( Katsunori Sawa Remix ) ) and now Voidance Records together with Chafik Chennouf.
Katsunori Sawa’s trademark sound strives for the more industrial territories of techno. Rhythmic noise, undulating bottom end rave and wall-of-sound-scapes meat grumbling breakbeat abstractions.

2009年ごろよりフィールドレコーディングで収集したサウンドデータをプロセシングした楽曲の制作を開始。flau、psalmus diuersae、angoisse、Manila Institute等のレーベル・パブリッシャーから複数の作品を発表している。これまでにTim Hecker、Mount Kimbie、Arca、The Field、Lolina、Mark Fell、Julia Holter、TCF等の来日公演をサポート。近年は美術家 金氏徹平の舞台作品やファションレーベルPUGMENT等のサウンドを担当。またポエジーやミームをテーマにインスタレーションや音響作品を展開している。リトルプレスを制作する「yong」メンバー。個展に『FAKEBOOK』（Workstation.、2016年）。主なグループ展に『シンフォニーLDK』（京都市立芸術大学ギャラリー@KCUA、2017年）等。
